Terms & Conditions - The Basics
HOLDS
1. Acceptance and Responsibility
Ship Consultants LLC assumes no liability for packages left at our facility beyond the agreed-upon holding period. Once a package is delivered, accepted, or signed for by our staff, it remains the sole responsibility of the recipient to arrange for pickup or forwarding within the designated timeframe.
2. Maximum Holding Period
All packages must be claimed and picked up within 30 calendar days of arrival at our facility. If you anticipate a delay, you must contact us at customerservice@shipconsultantsllc.com to request an extension.
3. Unclaimed or Abandoned Packages
If a package is not claimed within the allowed holding period, it will be deemed abandoned. Ship Consultants LLC reserves the right to:
-
Return the package to the sender at the recipient’s expense.
-
Dispose of, donate, or auction the package contents at our discretion, without liability to the customer.
4. Identification Requirements
-
To protect our customers, we will not release a package to anyone other than the named recipient unless prior written authorization is provided. The person picking up the package must present a valid government-issued photo ID and, if applicable, the tracking number or confirmation notice.
5. Limitation of Liability
-
Ship Consultants LLC shall not be held responsible for any loss, theft, damage, or mis-delivery of packages that occurs while in transit or during the holding period. Customers are encouraged to purchase third-party insurance for high-value items.
Shipments refused for any reason can result in additional charges that will become the sole responsibility of the customer.
Any and all unauthorized refused and returned shipments will be subject to charges for shipping costs plus any additional charges incurred from the refusal.
Items that are returned will be refunded LESS the cost of shipping and any other charges incurred from refusal.
DELIVERIES
Shipments that are less than a full semi truckload and are going to a residence (a non commercial business without a loading dock or forklift) require a lift gate which is built into the cost of shipping.
The lift gate service will transfer the product off of the semi truck and onto the curb at the delivery site. This DOES NOT include moving the pallet away from where it’s dropped off.
Someone should be there to accept the delivery and make sure there are no damages .
Customers are responsible for re-delivery charges and detention charges (if the driver has to stay for more than 25 minutes to unload).
